School of Criminal Justice Instructors Bob Warnock & JC Paez on ‘Finding Opportunity’


Police officer Bob Warnock and Lieutenant JC Paez are both experienced law enforcement professionals and KU instructors. Each understands firsthand how important higher education is to advance or change career paths in the criminal justice field. According to them, many students (even police academy students) don’t realize the growing number of opportunities in criminal justice until they enter the KU program.

Working full-time while at law school, Illinois prosecutor and KU instructor Andy Fox identifies with the challenges his students face. He believes experienced law enforcement instructors give students a chance to evaluate in depth a number of career opportunities. JC Paez, a police commander and KU instructor, feels a criminal justice degree provides a deeper knowledge of the field’s core areas: police, courts, and corrections.
